Transferring Ownership to Your Spouse/Children or a Trust

If you’d like to transfer ownership of your property to your spouse/children, or into a Trust, you’ll need to provide one or more of the following documents:

• Deed: To validate that you are an owner of the property.
• Document that transfers ownership to a spouse or children: To validate that the property was transferred to your spouse or child. 
  • 💡 Tip: If your mortgage is owned by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, you may be allowed to transfer your property to other family members as well.
• Trust Documents: To confirm that the property was transferred into a Trust.
• Evidence of Family Relationship: Like a marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc., used to validate your relationship to the transferee.
